This is a parts kit with all the components you need to build your own infrared data communications projects for use with the BASIC Stamp, PIC, and even your PC. These components can also be used to build an infrared remote control system using the Holtek encoder/decoder ICs.

The 8-pin PIC that comes with the kit can generate either a 38KHz or 40KHz carrier.
