Build a Programmer & Programmable Thermostat
For The Dallas Semiconductor DS1620 With The 87C51FA

This project gives you total control of the Dallas Semiconductors DS1620 Digital Thermometer and Thermostat integrated circuit.

Use it to program the three thermal alarm outputs on the DS1620, or use it as a programmable thermostat to directly control heating and air conditioning units.

Program, verify, or display the thermal alarm settings of the DS1620 inserted in the programming socket. The Intel 87C51FA microcontroller is the brains of the project with a 4X20 LCD module to display the results.

Two modes of operation provide for displaying or programming alarm set-points of the DS1620. Used as a programmer you have the option of programming the DS1620 for standalone operation, or three wire communications using the onboard microcontroller. Standalone operation means once you program the alarm set-points you can remove the DS1620 from the programmer to be placed in your control circuit.
