Tired of guessing..?

The new MicroCode Studio ICD enables you to execute your PICBasic Pro program on a host PIC microcontroller while viewing internal variables, Special Function Registers, memory and EEPROM contents as your program executes. Toggle single or multiple breakpoints, run full program code animations, or single-step through your PICBasic Pro program code line by line.

The ICD Code Window

The ICD Code Window shows the line of code currently being executed. Watch line by line as internal calculations & logical operations are carried out, and view the results of each operation in real-time in the ICD Explorer Window.

Insert single or multiple breakpoints to halt program execution at strategic points within your program. The RED bar [shown above] shows a set breakpoint. The BLUE bar [shown above] indicates the line of code currently being executed.

The ICD Explorer Window

The ICD Explorer window is automatically opened by MicroCode Studio when the ICD is started. Tabs at the top of the Explorer enable you to select which values are displayed. Data is displayed in decimal, hexadecimal and binary formats.

As your program executes the results of calculations & logical operations on internal registers & variables will update on-screen eliminating the guess-work normally associated with embedded programming. Similar to Microchips MPLAB, but specifically designed for use with the PICBasic Pro Compiler, and much easier to learn.

Watch on-screen as each line of code executes directly in the target PICMicro with MicroCode Studio. Debugging your applications has never been easier.

System Requirements

In order to run the ICD, you'll need a copy of either MicroCode Studio or MicroCode Studio Plus. In addition, you will also need the microEngineering Labs PICBasic PRO compiler, version 2.20 or higher. The MicroCode Studio ICD will not work with the PICBasic standard compiler.
