photo of Bring your robotics creations, animatronics, toys, puppets, and maybe even you old worn-out sofa to life with incredible ease. Robo-Ware simplifies the task of robotics and animatronics servo manipulation by providing an easy to use software interface for precise servo movement, control, and even adding sound effects and voices to your creations. Now here comes the good part.. Complex walking gaits, hand movements, eye movements, knees, arms, legs, spinning heads, jumping, creeping, crawling and even wagging tails with sound effects are easily programmed with a simple click of your mouse. If you have a sound card and a microphone, you can even record your own voice, save it as a .wav file, and include it in the animation sequence to create lifelike animatronics that speak. But we didn't stop there.. Robo-Ware has been specifically designed for use with the incredible Mini SSC II Serial Servo Controller from Scott Edwards Electronics Inc.
A single Mini SSC II will control up to 8 individual hobby servo motors. Combine two Mini SSC II's together and you have a whopping total of (16) hobby servo motors at your command. Just one of the excellent products available from Scott Edwards Electronics Inc., the Mini SSC II has become an industry standard for controlling precision servo motors and has helped countless individuals to create incredibly lifelike robotics creations. With a handful of hobby servo motors and a little imagination you can create incredibly lifelike creations that will have your whole neighborhood scrambling to your door to see what you're up to next. The only limitations you'll have are your imagination. Animated Halloween creatures lurking on your doorstep, walking + talking robots, creeping, crawling, jumping, rolling widgets will spring to life in minutes. It's simple, it's effective, and best of all "it's actually affordable"... With Robo-Ware, a hand-full of hobby servo motors and the Mini SSC II you can bring your imagination to life without taking out a second mortgage on your house. If you can attach a servo motor to it, you can animate it...! Features:
They say a picture's worth a thousand words, so here we go. Instead of filling up the page with bulleted lists, here's a few sample screen shots to explain the outstanding flexibility and pure simplicity of operation with Robo-Ware. Click HERE for
photo of The Robo-Ware execution screen shows how individual servo movements, script files and sound files look once inserted into the program execution window. Multiple execution modes allow precise control over your robots movements. let me explain... Execute once: Execute once will run the entire sequence of movements and sound files recorded to bring your robot to life. Once the end of your program is reached, execution is stopped and all movements cease. Loop until "Stop" button is pressed: Loop until "Stop" button is pressed will execute all movements and sound files until the "Stop" button is pressed. This mode was added to stop movement if a problem occurs during execution, and to allow for real-time observation of your animatronic creations during continuous real-time operation. Run to selected instruction: Run to selected instruction offers the ability to start and stop anywhere within the program sequence for program analysis and modifications on the fly. All of the logged movements, sounds, delay times, and script files may be moved to another line, deleted, and extra delays, scripts, sounds files may be added with precise placement into the execution window to really fine-tune your animations during run-time. Step one line: Step one line helps to apply slight modifications to single line instructions. You can insert, delete, or modify single line instructions to further fine-tune your creations on the fly. Saving script files: Script files are various combinations of recorded movements and sound files that are saved as a single script file. Once saved to a script file, the complex movements and sound files can be inserted into other sequences and will occupy a single line as shown above. On execution, a single script file will execute many stored movements and sounds once the script file is reached in the execution operation. Script files give the animator the ability to insert left turns, right turns, sound files, and other complex sequences of movements with a single click thus eliminating the need to start over from square-one once complex sequences have been figured out. Multiple script files may be saved for simple and quick insertion within other movement sequences and animation programs. NOTE: You can save multiple script files "within another script file" to create extremely powerful and compact animation sequences.
Complex series of servo movements and sounds can be saved for later insertion into larger control and animation projects. The screen shot above shows the save script feature in operation. Loading script files: Loading script files into the execution window gives the animator the ability to quickly insert various pre-tested walking gaits, sounds, and series of movements into the execution environment for inclusion in larger combinations of animation sequences.
Loading script files makes the whole process of producing complex animations and sound effects as easy as 1,2,3. Notice from the above screen shot how different script files have been saved with clear definitions of the movements contained within each script. Script files allow complex series of animations to be compiled and executed all from a single file within the execution window. Editing servo labels: The ability to know exactly what you're moving is very important for robotics and animatronics applications. The edit servo labels menu lets you easily label each servo according to its placement within your application. Descriptive labels simplify the entire process and speed applications development. Here's a screen shot of the edit servo labels menu.
Edit servo labels or disable servos not being used by your application quickly and easily from within the edit servo labels menu. Servo labels will be saved when you exit the label editor and can be saved as the default configuration setting when you return to work on your creation later. Saving configurations: As mentioned above, saving your favorite configurations can be accomplished quickly and easily from within the save configuration menu.
Saving your configuration will automate the entire process. Each time you start Robo-Ware your default configuration will be automatically loaded and stay in affect until you change your configuration options making the whole process effortless. Want more...? Read on... Multiple configurations: Working on multiple projects..? No problem..! Robo-Ware has the ability to store multiple user configurations to accommodate many different applications. Loading any one of your saved multiple configurations is simple from within the load configuration menu.
The ability to store and recall multiple configurations makes managing several animation projects a breeze and helps to speed up the entire process. When your time = money, this can be a useful feature...don't you think...?...$$$ For the professional special effects designer, hobbyist, and the serious robotics enthusiast, Robo-Ware is packed full of special features to make even the most complex animation sequences and robotics inventions a snap.
